The three headed elephant is of Buddhist/Hindu origin (Airavata or Erawan). The symbol was used in the Kingdom of Laos flag. The three heads of the elephant came to represent each of the former small kingdoms of the Kingdom of Laos: Vientiane, Luang Prabang, and Xieng khouang or Champassak. In Laos’ history the Three-head elephant started to appear about eighteenth century due to the separation of three smaller countries from Lan Xang in Laos. The three head elephant is the symbol of three major Gods in Buddhist/Hindu mythology: BRAHMA, VISHNU AND MAHESH. Among the three of them, the creator is Brahma, the keeper is Vishnu, and the destroyer is Mahesh.
The elephant is usually considered a symbol of wisdom, greatness.

*Please Note* There will be various separations or cracks and color will vary from the pictures depicted for every single piece. No two pieces will match.
There will be visible marks from carving, patches from repairs, knot holes, natural inclusions, and small missing pieces in the design. There will be various separations or cracks on your piece when it arrives as these are made from several joined pieces of wood glued together. If they separate simply rejoin with a wood glue. They naturally occurred as the wood was dried. Over time, continued shrinkage will accentuate existing separations or generate new ones. This does not compromise the structural performance or integrity of the wood and is considered inherent to the natural beauty of the design.

Natural wood products have variations in texture and finish color due to the underlying natural wood tones, viewable through the translucent oil. Your item will not look exactly like image on web site – no two are alike. The color will vary from the pictures depicted for every piece. The oil is the same color tone but the underlying wood color of the piece it is going on varies. These tropical woods have mold blooms that create dark stains.
Color variations and small cracks are not a valid return reason
The handcrafted touch of artisan skill creates variations in color, size and design. If buying two of the same items, differences should be expected. Color discrepancies will occur between the product and your computer screen

Sizes are just an approximation. Products are not perfectly square or flat but are useable and reasonably flat
We use similar wood to fill in worm holes and larger separations. We do not fill in or repair carving marks or natural inclusions like knots and branch growths. We sand to blend them to smooth edges and surfaces that are useable
Wood from a tropical climate is still alive. It will change over time based on a new climate, and if you place the piece in direct sunlight, or by a heating or cooling source, small cracks will appear but will stop occurring over time
Cleaning and Maintenance
Cleaning is best accomplished by using warm lightly soapy water. Use of a dishwashing soap with a citrus base is best. Simply wipe the item with a wetted damp rag and then wipe dry with an absorbent dry towel. To maintain luster, use a spray on furniture polish wax.
Direct exposure in the sun light will cause the oil to fade due to UV rays. Over time the oiled surface can be refreshed by cleaning and then applying a light coat of neutral natural wood oil
Note: Naturally finished wood packed in cardboard boxes may develop surface mold due to air moisture and contact between cardboard and wood. The wood is a natural heat sink and warms and cools creating moisture inside the box. The wet cardboard causes surface mold to form occasionally
After removing from the cartons simply clean as above. The piece will adjust to its new climate and stabilize over time and the surface mold will stop forming
